In Chennai it is very difficult for widows to make money and provide food for their families. Many live in extreme poverty. In order to lighten their burden Lighthouse provides meals on a monthly basis for widows and their families.

This was made worse with the COVID 19 pandemic. due to lockdowns and job loss it has been increasingly difficult for those in poverty to find good food. In 2020 & 2021, Lighthouse has provided food supplies to hundreds of families.

In 2022, every month an estimated 500 meals, across three different locations, are/will be provided. Each meal costs $ 2.50 USD.
